Kaslo Youth Baseball Founder & Coach
Welcome to the Kaslo Youth Baseball 2026 Season! We are excited to be celebrating our 10th year of Kaslo Youth Baseball and looking forward to the best year yet.
It is an exciting time for the Kaslo Baseball Community! With our recent field renovations we now have a multi-use field that can accommodate ballplayers at all stages of their development. We invite you to be a part of this revitalization of baseball in Kaslo.
The goal of Kaslo Youth Baseball is to provide a safe, fun, developmental environment for players, coaches, and parents. Our mission is to grow the love of the game and foster a culture where players enjoy coming to the ballpark and can't wait to come back season after season.
Our ballplayers will learn fielding and batting skills, the rules and strategy of baseball, and essential life skills such as fair play, accountability, and good sportsmanship.
There is a great deal of work involved in running a baseball program. In addition to an experienced coaching staff, we need assistant coaches and volunteers to help provide the best playing experience possible. Youth Divisions

T-BALL
Ages 5-6
The primary goal of Tee Ball is for children to have fun running around the diamond and learning the fundamentals of baseball.

ROOKIES
Age 7-8
Players will begin to develop baseball skills including fielding, hitting, baserunning and will start to understand how the game is played. A hitting machine is used to pitch softer balls for hitting practices and scrimmages. Players will begin to learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play.

MINORS
Ages 9-10
The progression into the minor division is a big step with players beginning to pitch to each other from 42 feet, and ideally play games against other teams. Minors will have a practice in addition to any games scheduled.

MAJORS
Ages 11-12
Major teams will have a weekday practice as well as weekend games. Players will continue to develop their skills and build upon learnings from previous divisions.

U15
Ages 13-15
Players will experience longer basepaths (90’) and pitching distance (60’6”) the same as Major League Baseball Players. Players will have their first exposure to lead offs and pick offs on a large baseball diamond. Pitches are faster, and hits are harder.

U18
Ages 15-18
Players will experience longer basepaths (90’) and pitching distance (60’6”) the same as Major League Baseball Players. Players will have their first exposure to lead offs and pick offs on a large baseball diamond. Pitches are faster, and hits are harder. We may even start to see homeruns at this age.

THE CHICKS
Ages 10-15
The Kaslo Chicks are a growing community of female coaches and young athletes who believe sport should be joyful, supportive and empowering. We are proud to offer a space where girls can develop baseball skills while learning the power of encouragement, collaboration and confidence.

Youth Baseball Registration opens March 5th, 2026, and closes on March 31st, 2026.

Fees cover a team shirt and hat, and for some divisions, use of a jersey that must be returned at the end of the season. It also includes all league and exhibition games within the West Kootenay League.
